CORE [Core Software Technology]

The CORE is a powerful set of interactive 2-D image file management,display, manipulation, enhancement, and analysis tools implemented in anX Window System/Motif end-user and application development environment.It is created explicitly for the new generation of UNIX RISC workstationswhich, for the first time, provide sufficient power and physical memoryto permit the convenient manipulation and processing of digital imagerywithout "add-on" special purpose hardware accelerators. Embodied in TheCORE is enough basic image processing technology to satisfy the needs ofa broad range of traditional imaging applications from 2-D biomedicalimaging to the more demanding requirements of 2-D intelligence dataanalysis.The CORE is extensible. Image processing and application developmentexperts can attach command line code to The CORE main menu and run thoseapplications seamlessly from any directory on the system.
